Obturating with Gutta-Percha

Ultrasonics is faster, easier and more economical than a heating unit.

Ultrasonics are an effective alternative for thermoplasticising Gutta-Percha. Initially, the master cone is placed to the desired length. A thin ultrasonic tip is then placed to an apical extent within the canal. With activation, the tip will generate heat and thermoplasticize the Gutta-Percha. Subsequently, bulkier tips may be used in the middle and coronal portions of the canal. At the level of the orifice, the cones can be cut using the same tips. This method can be more economical than purchasing specialized heating units with corresponding pluggers.

E11 – Heatsonic™

The E11 Heatsonic™ is a .05 taper/20 ISO insert, ideal for thermoplasticizing Gutta-Percha in the most apical portion of the canal. To avoid accidental use of water during the procedures, the Heatsonic insert does not have a water port.

E10 – Bulk Removal

The E10 is used for bulk removal of pulp chamber calcifications or other restorative materials that may obstruct the root canal access. It can be used as well for cutting and condensing Gutta-Percha.
